The Oregon State Labor Council, has voted unanimously to endorse the proclamation in support of indigenous peoples of the Americas. Thanks to Tom Chamberlain (pres.) and Barbara Byrd (sec-treas) for their leadership on this.
Special appreciation needs to be extended to Frank Rouse, of IAM District W24, for his long-time support and leadership of Council-FIRE. Frank has shepherded this proclamation through the Northwest Labor CLC, and now through the State Fed. He is a true friend to the cause. Thank you Frank.
The support is more than welcome, and we are very humbled and pleased to have this powerful ally alongside us as we bring the causes of Native families forward, and work toward ways to help. Oregon now joins the Washington State Labor Council, the Labor Coalition Latin American Advancement, and the International Labor Communications Association as groups that have passed the proclamation – alongwith a large number of Central Labor Councils.
Thank you for taking the time to send a note. Keep our mission in your heart.
